First Training session!

Cheryl (Team Leader) writes...
Our `Dream’ Team gathered together for the first time on the 12th and 13th of July at The Canterbury Club. It was great to put faces to the Emails we had been exchanging for the last few weeks. The Team has a great pool of skills to draw from which will make our visit to District 6440 in Chicago one to remember! We worked on ideas for our uniform, our presentation for Rotary Clubs in the greater Chicago area and just spent time getting to know each other.
The `Dream’ Team name comes from the Rotary International theme for 2008/2009 `MAKE DREAMS REAL’. Our trip will make dreams real for us and we hope in turn that through international understanding we may be able to help make dreams real for others too.
Throughout the weekend we enjoyed the enthusiastic support of Ross Skinner (District Chairman), and his wife Anne (who have already visited District 6440),Alan Morgan (GSE Chairman), David Cartwright (GSE Secretary). Thanks guys for your encouragement and efforts on our behalf.
Our next get together is in Hanmer on August 16/17th when we will have a fashion parade of uniform items and sing our lungs out learning Maori Waiata (ably led by Brent who moonlights in a band) and mastering the power point presentation. Looking forward to it!!
Chicago here we come!
